About "Reach":

Alcance, for 8 Soloists and Symphony Orchestra, was commissioned by OCP / Jovem Orquestra Portuguesa and had its debut at the Konzerthaus Berlin, in the context of the Young Euro Classics Festival, on July 26, 2019, conducted by Pedro Carneiro . The premiere in Portugal, two days later, took place in the Grand Auditorium of the Centro Cultural de Belém.

The role of the 8 soloists was played by the ensemble Notas de Contacto composed of five users of CERCI Oeiras (an institution that works with people with cognitive disabilities), and three professional musicians who regularly work with CERCI Oeiras as part of a community project developed by OCP (Portuguese Chamber Orchestra).

The piece is dedicated to the 5 soloists of CERCI Oeiras: Carlos, Gustavo, Jacinto, Nuno and Vanessa, and the 3 teachers who accompanied them on this adventure: Ana Maria Santos, Óscar Carmo and Rui Borges Maia.
